REVIEW: MediHeal Line Friends Sheet Masks

This is a product I have wanted to try for a very, very long time. Mainly due to high reviews as well as the cute packaging. My boyfriend was nice enough to purchase these for me on my birthday which I was really excited about.

So these sheet masks are from a South Korean skincare brand called MediHeal. This particular line is their collaboration with Line Friends.

So this line carries 4 sheet masks, each carrying its own formula and purpose such as moisturising, brightening, recovering, and relieving.

Seriously, how cute is the packaging?

E.G.T Timetox Ampoule Mask

So basically, this particular sheet mask aims to recover skin elasticity by firming and tightening the skin.

I.P.I Lightmax Ampoule Mask

This mask claims to whiten the skin, particularly dark and dull spots, leaving the skin looking bright.

P.D.F A.C Dressing Ampoule Mask

For those who are looking to control the oil on your as well as relieve problem areas, this mask is the way to go.

N.M.F Aquaring Ampoule Mask

For those with dry skin, this is the best option out of the four as this particular mask caters towards dry skin and it also claims to reduce pores.

I had a photo of myself wearing this mask but unfortunately, my iPhone broke and I lost the photo but the mask still does come with a cute little icon on the cheek containing the exact same design found on the packaging.

Much like I do with all sheet masks I use, I apply these as the fifth step of my skincare routine, leaving it on my face for 10-15 minutes. These sheet masks are said to be most effective when used consecutively 2-3 times a week for 4 weeks.

Overall, I’m pleased with these sheet masks. I like that each mask is generously soaking in essence which feels very cool on the skin during the application process. It also fits very nicely on my face with no loose edges hanging off. I also enjoy the cute designs on the mask which just adds a bit of fun to my skincare routine.

These masks do live up to their claims and leave my skin feeling beautiful so yes, I do recommend purchasing these.

Pros:

  • Effective
  • Cute design
  • Fits well on the face

Cons:

  • I do not have anything negative to say about this product.

REVIEW: THEFACESHOP Character Mask

On my birthday, my boyfriend had surprised me with various presents which also included 12 sheet masks and 2/12 of these were the character masks by THEFACESHOP. I have wanted to try these for so long mainly because of the fun print. I’m not sure what the exact price is but I believe it’s between $3-$4 AUD each.

img_1540

THEFACESHOP has many different types of character masks but for now i’m only trying the puppy and panda mask. For those who aren’t aware, these sheet masks also come with other designs such as a fox, sheep, dragon, puppy, panda and tiger.

The main ingredients of each mask consists of water, humectants (Propanediol, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin), emollients (PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, PEG/PPG-17/6 Copolymer), some of which also have emulsifying or solvent properties, Panthenol (a great skincare ingredient which has humectant properties, but also can help to improve skin’s barrier function and helping skin repair itself), emulsifiers (Betaine), thickeners (Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer).

This is the puppy sheet mask. Its main purpose is to brighten the skin. This was the first out of the two that I tried and I gotta say I really enjoyed using this due to its fun design. It just really makes that step of your skincare routine more fun.

I think it’s a very moisturising mask and does a fair job at brightening my skin.

As for the Panda mask, the purpose of this is more towards moisturising and hydrating the skin.

I really like that these masks do not leave a sticky feeling on your skin as compared to previous masks I have tried. The smell of this masks consists of the same fruity scent found in the puppy mask I previously tried. The mask lives up to its claims as it left my skin feeling moisturised and soft.

Overall, I very much enjoyed using these character masks. Most would expect skincare products such as these to simply produce an attractive aesthetic while lacking in functionality. However, from my personal experience, THEFACESHOP’s character masks work just as well as they look.

My most favourite part of this mask is the strong fruity smell. If you are one who is sensitive to scents, I don’t suggest using this mask. They also fit well on my face which is a large deal for me as sheet masks usually tend to be quite large on my small face. If you are looking for a sheet mask that is both effective as well as enjoyable to use, I highly recommend this! However, if you are limited to a certain budget, this may not be the best option as they do retail for around $3-$4 AUD each.

Pros:

  • Fun to use
  • Attractive scent
  • Moisturises and brightens skin

Cons:

  • Not as affordable

REVIEW: A’Pieu Fresh Mate Peat Mask – Pore Clearing

This was something I purchased on a whim in South Korea. I wasn’t looking for any product in particular but I just happened to be browsing in A’Pieu and I came across this. It was very cheap around 4000W I believe so I decided to just give this try, I mean I didn’t have anything to lose.

For those who aren’t familiar with A’Pieu, it is a South Korean cosmetics brand. This is as far as I know about the brand itself as there is no English website for me to browse. Although I have seen some beauty YouTubers talk about some of their cosmetics and they have quite a range of adorable looking makeup.

IMG_1002.jpg

Firstly, this product is from their Fresh Mate Mask line which has 5 different masks including this one. Two out of the five, are wash of masks and the other three are sleeping masks. All masks have different functions such as pore clearing, peeling, calming, hydrating and nutrition. The one I am reviewing is the pore clearing.

IMG_1004.jpg

The product comes in a simple grey squeeze tube. Judging by the other products A’pieu carries, the packaging on this is quite simple and mediocre compared to the rest.

This product is said to be best for those with large pores and it is supposed to clear the pores and leave the skin feeling very smooth and soft. This is also made for all skin types. You just apply this onto freshly washed skin and and rinse after 10-15 minutes.

Unfortunately, I cannot provide the ingredients list as everything on the back is written in Korean as well as their website.

IMG_1003.jpg

The texture of the mask is very thick and clay-like and it also kind of smells like clay too which I am not very fond of.

I have tried this product many, many times and I have to say that I am quite disappointed. This product leaves my skin feeling very dry and it does not soften it at all. For the pore clearing, I can’t really say much as I don’t have large pores and cannot tell the difference. Overall, this product makes very little difference to my face with the exception that it leaves it feeling more dry.

Pros:

  • Inexpensive
  • Made to suit all skin types

Cons:

  • Dries the skin
  • Has no effect
  • Smells like clay

REVIEW: Laneige Water Bank Gel Cream

I am back to do a second review of another product from Laneige’s Water Bank line. It is their gel cream. I previously did a review on the Water Bank eye cream.

img_0487

Ingredients: Water, Butylene Glycol, cyclopentasiloxane, glycerin, Alcohol, cyclohexasiloxane, dimethicone, chenopodium quinoa seed extract, Magnesium sulfate, zine sulfate, manganese sulfate, calcium chloride, ascorbyl glucoside, chamaecyparis obtusa water, sodium hyaluronate, ceramide 3, acetyl glucosamine, copper tripeptide-1, niacinamide, tocopherol, limnanthes alba (meadowfoam) seed oil, clyceril stearate, Dicaprylyl carbonate, Cyclomethicone, Cetearyl alcohol, Cetyl ethylhexanoate, Stearic acid, Ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP copolymer, Ethylhexylglycerin, trisiloxane, palmitic acid, Phenyl methicone, Potassium cetyl phosphate, polyglyceril-10 stearate, polyglyceril-3 methylglucose distearate, polysorbate 20, polysilicone-11, polyacrylate-13, polyethylene, polyisobutene, propylene glycol, PEG-100 stearate, PEG-5 rapreseed sterol, PEG/PPG-20/15 dimethicone, phytosphingosine, hydrogenated lecithin, hydrogenated polyisobutene, hydroexythel acrylate/sodium acryloyldImethyl taurate copolymer, disodium edta, phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

This gel cream is said to activate moisturising genes to increase the production of NMF’s and thoroughly moisturise care from the 20th layer to the skin surface.

img_0489

As mentioned in my previous review of the eye cream, I really love the packaging. I just think it is really beautiful as the glass packaging just adds a touch of elegance. However again, it is quite heavy so it is not travel friendly.

Much like the name suggests, the cream is gel like. It is very light and it absorbs onto the skin very well. I really like the way it makes my skin feel when applied. It leaves it feeling very soft and smooth. It also has a very nice fresh scent. Overall, my thoughts on this product is very similar to the Water Bank eye gel. Laneige is very consistent with their products and I look forward to trying more products from this line.

Pros:

  • Fresh scent
  • Very light
  • Softens and smoothens skin
  • Beautiful packaging

Cons:

  • Heavy packaging

REVIEW: Nature Republic Real Squeeze Aloe Vera Emulsion

Back again with another review! Today I will be focusing on Nature Republic‘s Real Squeeze Aloe Vera emulsion. This emulsion actually belonged to my brother and I borrowed it a for a while just to try it and also for review purposes.

IMG_0502.jpg

I don’t know how much this product is so I apologise for that.

This emulsion is said to give an instant cooling effect. It is also supposed to moisturise, soothe and improve skin elasticity.

IMG_0504.jpg

The product comes in a standard pump bottle with Nature Republic’s traditional green packaging. I like that it’s transparent so that I can see how much product is left inside.

IMG_0503.jpg

Ingredients list

“An emulsion featuring with Aloe Vera from California hydrates and moisturises skin.”

The consistency of this product is very runny much like every other emulsion that I’ve tried. I wish this emulsion was a little more moisturising as I feel that it is only moderately moisturising. However, this product smells incredible. I absolutely love the scent, it’s very fresh and light and I can’t stop sniffing it. Overall, this product isn’t amazing but it does the job.

Pros:

  • Smells incredible
  • Transparent packaging

Cons:

  • Not moisturising enough

REVIEW: Deoproce Aloe Vera Oasis Night Cream

The product I am reviewing today is Deoproce‘s Aloe Vera Oasis night cream. This came in a box with a few other products for around AUD $39. I prefer to review products separately as I feel I go more in depth.

Prior to purchasing this, I didn’t know much about the brand except that it was from South Korea. I came into this not knowing what to expect.

IMG_0507.jpg

The product comes in a very nice glass jar which just makes it feel a little more fancy. However, it is not great for travelling as it is very heavy but overall, i’m a fan of the simple green packaging.

One of my most favourite things about this product was how thick the cream was. I feel that some people might not like this as a lighter texture might feel less slimy on the face but I for one am a huge fan of thick night creams because I love the way it leaves my skin feeling highly moisturised and soft. I also wake up with very soft skin and it is not dry at all. I would definitely repurchase this given the chance and I highly recommend this!

Pros:

  • Thick texture
  • Very moisturising
  • Nice packaging

Cons:

  • Heavy packaging

REVIEW: THEFACESHOP White Seed Brightening Toner

I’m back again to review another product from THEFACESHOP’s White Seed Line. It is their brightening toner.

I’m just gonna jump straight into the review!

img_0680

Just like their White Seed Brightening Serum, I really love the packaging. It’s very sleek and crisp. However, I do wish that I am able to see how much product is left inside. The product comes inside a 145ml pump bottle which I think is quite a good size for a toner.

img_0682

I wasn’t able to take a picture of the actual product on my skin but I will describe it. It’s a very runny, milky type of liquid.

I pump some onto a cotton round and gently swipe it on my face. I think it feels very moisturising and cooling. It also smells incredible and I really love it. It really does leave my skin looking brighter and fixes the dullness in my skin. I would very much consider repurchasing this as I think it is worth the money.

Pros:

  • Very nice smell
  • Beautiful packaging
  • Moisturising
  • Brightens skin

Cons:

  • Quite pricey
